Donna Devette Barlow, the American singer/songwriter/producer known as Donna Barlow, was born into a musically and artistically gifted performing arts family on September 19, 1967 at 10:07pm, at Mount Zion Hospital, San Francisco, California, to her parents performer Norma Jean McLoyd and singer Joseph Wilfred Barlow. She was their second child, in a family which eventually grew to include 7 children altogether. Joseph Wilfred Barlow was part of a San Francisco Bay area a cappella group originally known as the San Francisco Fabulous Laymen, who, due to name conflicts, eventually became known as The OG’s. Norma Jean took accordion, piano, tap, ballet, modern dance, was in several singing groups, choirs, Danced on a segment of KPIX Dance Party, sang in clubs and military bases, was in a play at Pacifica in Stockton, attended Los Medanos and Delta Colleges (During a choir concert at Los Medanos College, Donna and her siblings could not keep still. Their picture showed up in the college news paper.), earned an Associate Arts degree in Music. sang overseas in Switzerland with the Heritage Chorale. Donna’s uncle Earl was in a group called The Uncalled Three and they went on tour in the early 60's with Earl Fatha Hines. Donna’s aunt Fyrne took violin and dance. Musically artistic.
Donna currently is a member of Phaaze2 Dance Band.
